Senior Accountant

Description:
A commercial bank located in the Hartford area is looking for a Senior Accountant with a minimum of 3 years of bank accounting experience. A bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is also recommended. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and analytical skills, coupled with strong computer skills; knowledge of Oracle Financials is a plus.

Responsibilities include:

-Day to day maintenance of general ledger
-Bank reconciliations and maintenance of daily cash position
-Accounting for and reconciliation of investment portfolio
-Payroll processing and related employee benefits
-Maintenance of accounts payable, fixed assets and prepaid expenses
-Prepare monthly financial statements and assist in month-end close
-Prepare quarterly Call Report schedules
-Assist in establishing, documenting and monitoring internal controls
-Assist in the coordinating internal, external and regulatory audits
-Assist the CFO with all accounting and finance activities and special projects as needed
